Sushi Kaji
I think I’ve gotten slower updating in the summer. I can’t believe it’s almost over now! August has been a little rainy, but otherwise it’s still pretty nice out. A few weeks ago I went to Sushi Kaji with my sister and my aunt who was visiting from Texas. It’s been almost two years since I’ve last gone to the restaurant. It was kind of nostalgic because we sat at the same table from our first visit.
The food at Sushi Kaji was exceptional. It’s no wonder they always make it on the list of top restaurants in Toronto. Even though my stomach was full when we left the restaurant, my wallet was feeling relatively empty in comparison. Hehe. I think I enjoyed it better the first time I went. I don’t think the food or the quality has changed, but I guess the first visit always makes a lasting impression. Have a look at the photos below to make your own impression!

Hmmmm – very impressive…. my eyes are suitably satisfied – my stomach and tongue on the other hand are decidedly peeved. I think first impressions are important, but often are almost never matched on return visits. There’s always something special about the first time…. or so they say…. when you sample a menu, and an atmosphere without any expectations at all.
It can be very depressing to go to that place that you went to before and was totally brilliant, only to come out wondering whether you went to the wrong place.
Still, the food at Sushi Kaji looks beautiful… and I’ll let my imagination do the rest.
The presentation was amazing and the taste was equally impressive. I guess my wallet must have felt it more the second time around. =P
