Bye Bye Carribean
Our last day on the Celebrity Beyond was another at sea day. After waking up at 8am, we had to change our clocks forward, so we lost an hour that day. We had breakfast upstairs, then ended up wandering around the ship until we got to Deck 15 where we found an empty table tennis table under the shade. I played for a bit, then headed over to the gym for the next hour.
After grabbing an early lunch, we made sure to head to the theatre early as there was a matinee performance by our very own captain, Captain Kirk. While my cruise experience is limited, I’m pretty sure no other cruise ship has a multi-talented musician captain who puts on a show for his guests. It was honestly such a treat watching him sing and play. I think the show was only scheduled for half an hour, but it ended up being over an hour with an encore performance.

I spent the remainder of the afternoon lounging in the solarium. Dinner was at the Cosmopolitan, where I had their escargot, seafood pasta and the most delicious Mille feuille. We caught the early seating of the evening performance, then went upstairs to pack. Then we were back down to enjoy the second night of Silent Disco at the Grand Plaza.

The next day we had a transfer to the airport, so we waited until it was our turn to disembark. It was also nice having a quick chat with Captain Kirk while he was seeing all the guests off the ship.
Overall I really loved the experience sailing on the Celebrity Beyond. I was lucky we had great weather during our week onboard. It also wasn’t as crowded since we traveled near the off-peak season. I was happy to be disconnected for a week, although oddly enough I was able to receive random notifications using their weak wifi signal (it really wasn’t worth paying for wifi onboard). While I didn’t try all the activities, there was a lot of variety. I especially enjoyed the game nights, and even if I didn’t participate, it was fun watching in the audience. There was always something to do no matter what time of day.
I would highly recommend going on a cruise if you want a week of relaxation while still getting to sample a few destinations along the way. You can also give yourself an excuse to overindulge in food for a week. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the islands in the future. Until next time!
