Boston

Boston

This entry comes about two months late…but I’m backdating it since I wanted all my entries in chronological order. Hehe. So Boston – was lots of fun. It was kind of another spur of the moment trip. I actually bought my flight the same day I bought my flight to NYC. Might as well take advantage of sale prices right? LOL. Anyway, it had been a couple years since I’ve been to the city, so it was fun to explore it all over again.

I was a little busy with things the first day and a half, but on the first night I had a really nice dinner with Rin at a seafood restaurant near our hotel. We were both famished once we got there and pretty much cleaned everything off our plates by the end of it. There was a bit of a drizzle while we were walking back, so we quickly hurried to the hotel and settled in for the night.

For the next day, I wrapped up early on and then went over to Back Bay Station to wait for Tammy. She would be taking me out for the rest of the day. Our first order of business was walking to some of the tourist spots in Boston. I really enjoyed strolling around the Christian Science Plaza Reflection Pool. It was really peaceful walking around on a lazy Saturday afternoon. After that we made our way to the supermarket to grab a couple cans of clam chowder that I promised to bring back home as souvenir.

We grabbed an early dinner at a Legal Seafood nearby. I ended up getting an ENTIRE plate of shellfish. As much as I love seafood, I’ve never eaten so much of it in one sitting before! I was afraid of getting some severe allergic reaction. LOL. Since it was still early we ended up walking to some of the more trendy spots in the city where a lot of university students hung out. Then we caught a screening of Tai Chi 0 at the theatre. Great way to end the night!

Since I only had the morning left, Rin and I got up early to finally go exploring around our hotel. We passed by the old buildings near Copley Square, then walked around the small streets to admire the architecture. Sunday morning was pretty quiet, so it was nice being able to snap photos as we were walking.

Rin’s flight was earlier than mine, so we parted ways at the hotel and I continued exploring on my own afterwards. I backtracked to where Tammy took me to the previous day and went and got myself another slice of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. LOL. But I did take the subway over to Chinatown for lunch, so at least I got to see another part of the city. Exploring the Boston Public Library was also an eyeopener. It’s so gorgeous inside!

Anyway, the trip was super short but very relaxing. I didn’t really do what I came there for, but either way I’m glad I made the most of my time in Boston! Thanks to Tammy and Rin for being great company for the weekend. =)
