Ketchikan

Ketchikan

Our last port of call – Ketchikan. It was rainy when we arrived in Ketchikan. It wasn’t an outright downpour, but it was pretty misty throughout the day. Once we got off the ship, we walked along the docks towards the town. There were lots of ships arriving that day, so there was a nice crowd along the streets. We did a quick tour around downtown Ketchikan, then walked over to Creek Street, which used to be the red light…

Juneau

Juneau

Juneau was our next port of call in Alaska. Since we had made arrangements for a helicopter tour at noon, it meant we had plenty of time to go exploring the town in the morning. The downtown area in Skagway is very small and you could…

I wasn’t exactly sick, but the ship was rocking quite a bit and…

Arriving in Whittier

Arriving in Whittier

For our second day in Alaska, we started the morning by grabbing breakfast at the hotel. The Crow’s Nest restaurant is on one of the highest floors, so we had a great view of downtown Anchorage from where we were seated. The sky was pretty clear that morning, so you could see quite a few snow-capped mountains off to the distance. Afterwards we finished packing our stuff, then waited around with our group in the lobby. We would first be…
