Hong Kong Part 1
By the time we got to Hong Kong I was thoroughly confused by the time difference as it was the fourth time zone I had traveled to during the trip. Our flight landed at 4:30am and we had to wait almost an hour and a half for the first trains to leave for the city. I also had to reactivate my Octopus card, as it had been a couple years since I last used mine.
After making it back home to Chai Wan, my uncle bought us breakfast which I ate quickly, then I decided that it was still too early for me to be up, so I forced myself to sleep for an hour. It was only after I rested and showered that I finally felt like a person again.
Once we were ready to leave, we took the MTR out to Jordan and had wonton noodles at Mak’s. I had actually wanted to eat next door at Mak Man Kee, but the line up, similar to the Australia Dairy Company, went down the street, so we settled for Mak’s instead. After lunch we went shopping at Mira Place and I bought a few items from GU. Later on we purposely stopped at Moropain, where I got their tiramisu melon bun.

As we were already in Kowloon, we walked over to the Avenue of Stars, where I also bought some teas and shortbread cookies at Fortnum & Mason, which has sadly closed since this entry. Then we took the Star Ferry back to Wan Chai, with amazing views of the sunset, then the bus back to Chai Wan. For dinner that night we stayed in the area for a quiet family dinner out. That caps off my first day back in HK.
