Asia Tour Part 1: Tokyo

Asia Tour Part 1: Tokyo

A little behind in updates this time around. It’s Christmas next week! Time has really flown by in a wink. Asia almost seems like a lifetime ago, but I’m hoping my memory will hold out as I try to recall all the details of my trip.

Starting off in Tokyo, we arrived at Narita in the afternoon on the 18th. I think out of the five flights I flew on this trip, this one turned out to be the worst. I was just about at my limit when we got close to landing (I watched three movies on this flight to kill time). First order of business after landing was grabbing our luggage and loading up on the N’EX. Yumi was meeting us for dinner that night, so we made plans to meet at the hotel lobby closer to dinner time.

Shinjuku Station was like a whirlwind. Everytime we go through there’s always a wave of disorientation before we can figure out our bearings. Thankfully our hotel was very close to the station. Stepping into the hotel, the lobby was decorated with a huge Christmas tree. I had almost forgotten we were right in the midst of the holiday season.

I was famished by the time we got checked in, and luckily Yumi came a short while later. We walked a couple blocks down our hotel and went to an izakaya at one of the main intersections. I was a little clueless with the menu, so we left all the ordering to Yumi. I’m so glad I have friends who love food as much as I do! The pictures didn’t turn out so well since it was dark inside our room, but I’ll let them do the talking since I can’t remember the names of what we ate. =P

After dinner we walked back towards the hotel and called it a night. Thank you so much for treating us Yumi! I am always spoiled in Tokyo. Gochisosama deshita!
