Terre Bleu

Terre Bleu

A couple weeks ago my sister and I visited Terre Bleu lavender farm in Milton. I had read about it a few weeks prior and decided to check it out on our day off. We went on a weekday afternoon and arrived just after 1pm. After paying the admission fee inside the gift shop, we were off to explore the farm.

One of the great things about Terre Bleu is that they have different varieties of lavender, which means the peak blooms vary throughout the summer. No matter when you go in July and August there’s always something to see.

After taking a few dozen shots in the lavender fields, we joined a walking tour with a tour guide who explained the operations of the farm and how they harvest the lavender. Aside from the fields themselves, there’s also an apiary, a herb garden and a room where they dry and extract the lavender oil. I would say the tour was very informative for those interested in learning how they run the farm. Once the tour was over, we made our way through the forest to visit the lavender fields on the other side of the farm. There’s a bright yellow door in the middle of the field that you can’t miss when you make your way out of the forest!

Since it was nearing closing time when we finished taking all the photos we wanted, we quickly browsed through the gift shop then purchased ice cream cones. It was really nice ending the visit with lavender flavoured ice cream! Even though Milton is a little out of the way, I would definitely say it was worth the drive to visit!
