Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest

Moving onto the main highlight of the trip – Oktoberfest. The day after Hallstatt was another long train journey to Munich. For the next two days in the city I bought a regional ticket to travel within Bavaria. One of the cool things about riding the DB is that group rates are often a lot cheaper. A ticket for a single traveler would cost €25, while an additional person was only €7 extra.  Once we arrived in Munich, we stopped by the hotel to drop…

The journey to Salzburg took a…

Aside from admiring the building from the outside (it’s still in use as a residential building), there’s also a little village ‘mall’ with numerous gift shops and…

Europe 2019

Europe 2019

Back from another trip to Europe! I took a week off to visit Austria and Germany for the first time last week. While it wasn’t my intention to go to Munich during Oktoberfest, as I was planning on going to the city anyway I figured it wouldn’t hurt to coincide my travels with the festival. I’m glad I went because I ended up having a great time and it was so much fun experiencing it in person. My first stop…
