Welcome Party

Welcome Party

+++ I should put a little disclaimer here. I promised Megumi I would practice more in Japanese and she said she would help me correct any mistakes I had on this blog. However, she corrected a little too much. If you saw the original piece I had written it would have been completely crossed out in red marker. HAHA. But at least I tried. (~_~;)

Vancouver

Vancouver

Last vacation post! I survived the week-long cruise and finally made it to Vancouver! Our ship docked in Vancouver early in the morning. We were amongst the first groups to disembark. It was great setting foot in Canada again! We lined up through customs, then inched our way along the terminal. Once we got near the exit, we took a taxi towards the hotel. In typical Vancouver fashion, it was raining outside as we were leaving. It seems to always…

Ketchikan

Ketchikan

Our last port of call – Ketchikan. It was rainy when we arrived in Ketchikan. It wasn’t an outright downpour, but it was pretty misty throughout the day. Once we got off the ship, we walked along the docks towards the town. There were lots of ships arriving that day, so there was a nice crowd along the streets. We did a quick tour around downtown Ketchikan, then walked over to Creek Street, which used to be the red light…

Juneau

Juneau

Juneau was our next port of call in Alaska. Since we had made arrangements for a helicopter tour at noon, it meant we had plenty of time to go exploring the town in the morning. After getting off the ship, we followed the path towards the city centre. The first thing we saw was the Mount Roberts Tramway. We didn’t actually take the tram up the mountain, but it did look impressive as we watched it disappear at the top….

Skagway

Skagway

Skagway was our first port of call in Alaska. Since we didn’t have any excursions planned for the day, we had plenty of time to leisurely stroll along the streets and take in all the sights and sounds. After we left the ship, we followed the crowds towards downtown Skagway. There were three other ships at the port that morning, so everywhere we went it was packed with tourists. The downtown area in Skagway is very small and you could…
