For our last morning in Okinawa, we woke up a little later than usual after spending the previous night figuring out how to pack our carry on luggage. Even though neither of us bought a lot of stuff, we were still struggling with how to keep our luggage under<\/em><\/strong> 10kg. It was such a relief for both of us when we managed to pass through the check at the airport without any problems. Lol<\/p>\n

After getting ready we made it downstairs for breakfast where I was able to enjoy my last day of traditional Okinawan food. I really like how this Toyoko Inn served local foods like jushi<\/em>, sanpin<\/em> tea and shikuasa<\/em> juice, which is a native Okinawan citrus fruit. I could probably eat it everyday.<\/p>\n

There wasn\u2019t a lot we could do before our flight, so Carmen and I decided to kill time at the mall across the street. We spent about an hour browsing inside the department store at Palette<\/em>. Right before we left, we stopped by Blue Seal<\/em>, which is a famous ice cream shop in Okinawa. I ended up getting their Okinawa Ta-imo Cheesecake<\/em> flavour ice cream. Right after we paid and left the shop, our ice cream started to melt at an alarming speed while out in the heat. It was a rush against time to finish it before it turned into a big puddle. =P<\/p>\n

Once we grabbed our luggage, Carmen and I headed to the airport. Her flight was an hour earlier than mine, so we said our goodbyes when we got there. I had a bit of time to explore the main terminal, so I headed over to their observation deck and paid the 100 yen admission to enter. I spent a few minutes inside watching the planes takeoff from the tarmac. <\/p>\n

Afterwards I took a shuttle over to the LCC terminal. There\u2019s not much inside the terminal except for a souvenir shop and a coffee stall. Since I hadn\u2019t had lunch yet, I went through security early and ended up getting a bowl of Okinawa soba at the only restaurant inside. After I finished eating, I waited another 30 minutes before finally boarding.<\/p>\n

Again it was another long trip back home. After landing at KIX, I took the train back to Osaka Station. I had about three hours to kill before my bus back to Nagoya. I had purposely bought tickets for a later bus back in case my flight was delayed. I spent the extra time window shopping and grabbing dinner at a curry restaurant called Camp<\/em> before finally heading over to the bus terminal. <\/p>\n

Overall this trip was a little spontaneous, but I\u2019m grateful that I got a chance to visit Okinawa during my time in Japan. I\u2019m also happy I had a good travel buddy who had no complaints with my jammed-pack itinerary. Thank you for putting up with all those incredibly long treks! Hehe.
