The permanent exhibition is open to the public free of charge and consists of three floors. It took us the better part of the morning to go through the first and second floor. We decided to break up the visit by having lunch at their food court before going to the third floor.

(Side note: There’s actually a lot of options at their food court so it took a while deciding what to order!)

I totally wasn’t feeling well while we were touring the museum. I’m not sure if the subject matter was boring me to sleep or if it was my lingering headache, but I felt like I was sleepwalking the entire time. I wanted to blame it on jet lag, but since Korea and Japan are in the same time zone I wasn’t able to use that excuse. Haha.

Anyway, luckily I was saved by an Advil so the rest of the afternoon wasn’t a complete loss. By the time we left the museum at around 3:00pm, we crossed the river and head over towards Gangnam. We first visited Bongeunsa Temple then COEX mall. It had started to snow when we emerged from the subway, so it was very picturesque as we walked towards the temple.

Later for dinner we finally got to eat my favourite Korean BBQ! I don’t think anyone could visit Korea without at least trying some BBQ. =P

+++

Day 4 in Korea was pretty short. After we finished packing our bags we left them at the hotel and went out to explore Namdaemun. First we visited the restored Namdaemun Gate, then we set out to explore the market. There was a lot of stuff on sale at the outdoor stalls, but we ended up only buying a few souvenir items.

Later we ended up going inside Shinsegae, which is a large department store in that area. Then we walked towards Myeong-dong to find a place for lunch. I ordered some sausage pot with tofu and ramen which was really yummy. (Obviously I have not learned how to distinguish Korean dishes by name. Lol.)

After going back to our hotel to pick up our luggage, we boarded an airport bus which would take us to Gimpo this time. While I really enjoyed all the yummy foods I got to eat on this trip to Korea, I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. It was great to explore Seoul, but I found the hospitality a little lacking. Maybe that was just my experience, but I hope if I go back again, I will have a better impression of the city and its people. Until next time!

For our last full day in Korea, we started the morning off at the National Museum of Korea.
