Japan

Japan

I did another quick trip to Japan a couple weeks ago! As with previous trips I crammed in too much and everything seemed like it went by in a blur. However I was glad I made time to see all my friends and managed to hit some new spots as well!

We landed on Saturday afternoon and it took a while to get everything sorted at the airport. We had to ship one luggage to Sendai, pick up our pocket WiFi, then grab our JR East passes for our trip to Tohoku. The lineup at the JR office was by far the longest and we had to wait around 30 minutes to collect our passes. However we were lucky they let us make reservations for our bullet train to Sendai on Monday, as the office only does same day reservations. That saved us an extra trip to another JR station.

Once we finally made it out of the airport it was a direct line towards Mita station, then finally to Shirokane. We dropped off our luggage at our fancy Airbnb (LOL) then took the bus towards Ebisu for dinner. I had wanted to go to Ebisu Yokocho to grab food, but it was soooo intimidating going inside. The space always reminds me of the dai pai dongs in Hong Kong, where only locals go for street food. We didn’t really know what stall to eat at, so our logic was to stand in the longest line. I think that plan kinda backfired on us, cause by the time we got inside we realized we were lining up for nikuzushi. LOL. While normally I wouldn’t have minded eating raw beef sushi, it just didn’t feel like the kind of meal I would eat coming off a 13-hour flight. =P

After dinner we ended up stopping by atré in Ebisu to grab a slice of crepe cake from HARBS, then headed back to the apartment. While it was a long day of travels, we were both full and happy when we finally called it a night.
